Black Bart takes the time to remember a classic TV program and actor Dale Robertson, who played Wells Fargo & Co. Express troubleshooter Jim Hardie.
He played many roles but I best remember him from the classic program Tales of Wells Fargo. It came at a time in TV history, when the story was as important as the action. Also, all of the good guys won and they never seemed to need to kill the bad guys in the process. At least they never made a bloody mess in the process of finding the bad guy. The period of 1957 to 1962 was great for watching such programs, because they could be seen by all members of the family and even the adults enjoyed them. In later years, Robertson did other series that can be found on the IMDB or other sites on the internet. We looked forward to all of those appearances because he was a real cowboy and that showed up in his work. Yet he was not limited to that field. His work will be missed by those of us who enjoy today’s actors, but who do miss the ones from the past.
